The Blowie Trophy

One balmy late afternoon my husband  Rich suggested we go for a fish on the old river Jetty in North Freo.  It was a magic warm, still night and we sat fishing with drop lines dangling down between our legs over the edge of the pier. By the end of our nights fishing, Heidi and I had lined up the entire catch along the jetty.  A proud row of Blowie fish of every shape and size – squeezed, bloated and stretched.  We kissed them before returning them to their home in the river.  A year later one appeared reincarnated and smiling from a lump of clay I was throwing on the wheel…and the rest is history.
